Below are partners that we work with to enhance the Albany Military Hospital project. We are very grateful for their support and contributions which have helped it to be such a success.
Roath Remembers – A Heritage Lottery funded project to rediscover Roath’s community stories from the duration of the war, 1914-1918, whether people served in the armed forces, or remained at home supporting the war effort through work and industry, and keeping families together. Roath Remembers participate in the school exhibition and collect stories from visitors.
Roath Local History Society – A local history society that have shared information with the school. The school also hosted a meeting as part of the society’s Summer programme in which the pupils shared their knowledge with members of the history society. The History society have also created a Roath Virtual War Memorial which can be found here https://roathlocalhistorysociety.org/local-history/war-memorials/roath-virtual-war-memorial/
Glamorgan Archives – The pupils have the opportunity to visit the archives and explore the school log books from the time and work with archivists to gain a deeper understanding of events from the time. Glamorgan archives also participate in the school exhibition.
Albany Road Baptist Church have supported the project and provided information and artefacts that show members of the church who fought in World War 1.
