Year 6’s Albany Military Hospital exhibition was a great success. Well done to all the pupils on remembering such an important time in history and creating such a high quality exhibition for the public. The writing and poetry on show was excellent and the use of IPads and QR codes to bring the exhibition to life were a great idea.

On Saturday we had over 400 visitors to the school and they were full of praise for our talented pupils. They thoroughly enjoyed the tours given by the pupils throughout the day and also the beautiful singing in the World War 1 medley. The highlight of the event was the recreated hospital ward and the quality of acting on show – at one point Mr Howlett thought he’d seen real maggots on a severe case of trench foot!! The children worked very hard to learn about World War 1 and to create the exhibition for the public in such a short time and as a school we are immensely proud of the way they successfully planned and organised a public exhibition.

Thank you also to the year 6 staff team and all of the staff who helped with the exhibition. We will be adding some of the work created for the exhibition to the website shortly.
