Letters from the trenches

During English lessons we wrote letters as if we were in the trenches in WW1. We wrote about how we were missing home, as lots of soldiers had only just turned 18 and had families that they had to leave behind. As the conditions in the trenches were terrible, we wrote to our families about them, and said how grateful we were for any gifts that they gave us. We also said how we saw people with trench foot and how dirty and disgusting life in the trenches actually was.

Our letters will be shown in our WW1 exhibition on 17th October.
